Reedin: the new kite brand by Kevin Langeree

Professional kiteboarder Kevin Langeree and experienced kite designer Damien Girardin teamed up to start a new kiteboarding brand – Reedin.

The former world champion and multiple-time King of the Air is getting into the business world with a company that aims to develop the “perfect kite gear.”

“I’m going to start my own brand, and I’m going to be doing that with Damien Girardin, the best kite designer in the world,” explained Langeree.

Riders list announced for 2020 Red Bull King of the Air

The full list of riders that will compete at the 2020 Red Bull King of the Air has been announced.

The big air kiteboarding event held in Cape Town, South Africa, will debut a new competitive format.

And there’s a female competitor – Angely Bouillot – among the 24 chosen ones. She has been trying to be selected for three years, and now she has a chance to unleash her talent.

Olly Bridge claims third Red Bull Lighthouse to Leighton

Olly Bridge has won the Red Bull Lighthouse to Leighton for the third time, in Australia.

The British kiteboarder crossed the Indian Ocean from Rottnest Island to Leighton Beach, in Fremantle, in 21 minutes and 8 seconds.

The 10th edition of the kiteboarding race got underway with winds of over 20 knots and choppy waters. The 19-kilometer crossing attracted 138 riders.

Real Watersports puts an end to the Triple-S Invitational

It’s all over. The organizers of the most prestigious wake-style kiteboarding event on the planet will no longer run the Triple-S Invitational.

The announcement was made in a lengthy statement issued by Real Watersports.

The kiteboarding event was held non-stop since 2006 in the Outer Banks.

Kiteboarding confirmed in major sports events

World Sailing Council and AGM have confirmed kiteboarding events in both the annual World Sailing Youth World Championships, starting 2021 in The Hague (Netherlands) and the 2022 Youth Olympic Games in Dakar (Senegal).

The World Sailing Youth World Championships will feature the same format as the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, a relay format where a male and female kiteboarder compete for medals in a mixed team.

The 2022 Olympic Games will see either a mixed team relay event, individual medals for male and female athletes as in the recent ANOC World Beach Games, or even three events where athletes can compete for individual and team medals.
